The weather here in Chicago is getting warmer and so many people are turning on their air conditioners! After a long winter and wet spring, it’s a great feeling to finally use the AC! However, before we dive in – make sure you’ve had your air cooling unit inspected and if needed, tuned up! If this is still on your spring to-do list, call us at (847) 503-9497 or contact us.

After you’ve got your air conditioner set up and ready to rock, consider investing in an in-duct air sanitizer! It’s a fantastic way to greatly improve your home’s indoor air quality, cut down on allergens and airborne debris and create a healthier environment for you and your family.

A lot of times, we see customers use smaller air purifiers on an as-needed or room-by-room basis, but this doesn’t always give you the best results. But taking the steps to sanitize the air your family breathes before it’s released back into your home is ideal for maintaining good health. It’s also a huge advantage to those who suffer from asthma or are sensitive to dust, pollen or other respiratory system agitators.

Just as the product name implies, an in-duct air cleaner is installed directly into the air duct system. An American Weathermakers professional can install it either before or after the air handler in homes with a central HVAC unit. This kind of purifier is generally referred to as a whole-home air purifier because it can provide whole-home air filtration.

A key feature about in-duct air purification systems is that they can kill up to 99% of airborne contaminants throughout your whole house. Also, since the unit is in the duct, it doesn’t take up more space or leave HVAC hardware out in the open for you to see. In-duct air purifiers are also quiet.

There are two specific models we recommend. REME HALO® Whole Home In-Duct Air Purifier and the RGF Clear Sky DM.

The REME HALO model is the next generation of indoor air quality technology and capable of purifying every cubic inch of air that your central air conditioning system reaches. The RGF Clear Sky DM reduces particulate, allergens, smoke, bacteria, viruses and mold spores. This unit is designed to be mounted in the HVAC air handler and installed using its no tools required magnetic mount for quick and easy installation.
